NewsAlienware’s TGS Lineup Is So Very PrettyBy Mike Fahey on September 24, 2009 at 3:20 AM Gaming computer experts Alienware took the occasion of the Tokyo Game Show to unveil four new desktops and one new laptop for those of us who could never afford one to drool over.Sure, I could build a comparable PC for less money on my own, but it wouldn’t be nearly as pretty, and it could potentially explode. As a former PC tech, I can really appreciate not having to worry about such things. It’s like buy(Click Here to Know More)

CompTIA Career Retraining Uncovered

by Jason Kendall The CompTIA A+ training program covers four areas of training; you’re thought of as an A+ achiever once you’ve passed your exams for half of them. This is why it’s usual for colleges to offer only two of the training courses. In reality you will need the teaching in all areas as a lot of employment will be looking for an awareness of each specialist area. It’s not essential to pass exams in all of them, however we’d advise that you learn about all four. Qualifying in CompTIA(Click Here to Know More)

ASUS Eee Top ET2002T and ET2203T getting October 22nd release

ASUS’s Eee Top ET2002T and ET2203T all-in-one nettops may have been confirmed for the US since August , but it’s taken the company a little while longer to discuss plants for them in the UK. Now seems as good a time as any to revisit what you get from either a 20- or 21.6-inch nettop, based on Intel’s Atom dual-core 330 in the case of the smaller machine, or a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo chips in the larger. The ET2002T has a touchscreen display, NVIDIA Ion graphics and a DVD burner, to(Click Here to Know More)

Blogging with patience

Hello! I am still in Bangalore recording video, photos and audio for the radio show and podcast. I have learned a lot very quickly about Bangalore's online access. There are many places with Wi-Fi now. It used to be that the local Cyber Palace - or internet cafe, was the place to log on, but now in the hotels and many homes there's a Wi-Fi signal. The only thing is, there is a peak time and a better time to be online and it's not generally when you want it on demand. The kit that I(Click Here to Know More)

Just my librium and me

I've just discovered that David Bowie's song All the Madmen is about his half brother and his time as a patient at the recently closed Cane Hill psychiatric hospital on the outskirts of South London. In fact, the hospital is pictured on one of the original versions of the cover to his classic album The Man Who Sold the World , as you can see from the image on the left. The main part of Cane Hill hospital has been closed since the early 90s and was largely dilapidated, but one unit w(Click Here to Know More)

Step Up!

Step Up! In the wake of the wholesale theft of sims and content over the weekend, like many people we wanted to do something about it â€" and also about all the other content theft that we have been fighting for so long â€" in the Content Creators Association and in magazines and on TV shows. Since then we’ve talked â€" and have come up with the idea of the Step Up! campaign, a campaign centred on a special day of action that everyone can become involved with, and that can empower and inform peop(Click Here to Know More)

UK: Mintpad has minimalist cool….

What, more devices that are racking up multiple Mobile phone functions? Bring it on please….! The Mintpad is one of those crossover devices that aims to do a lot of things â€" it’s been in the market a little while, but I’m never one to discount a device out of hand for that reason â€" we all miss gems now and again. The device is running Win CE 5 Pro, which again might not seem like a great reason to check it out, but let’s persist… First of all, it does look very cool â€" certainly there’s no hi(Click Here to Know More)

Nirvana Reading Festival CD+DVD finally will be released

The best unreleased live concert, Nirvana at the Reading Festival in 1992, will finally be released on November 3rd. For those of you in your mid to late 20s like me, Nirvana was the band of your childhood.. unless you liked shitty pop music. If you really loved Nirvana, you not only had the In Utero poster and that smiley t-shirt but also bootlegs of the shows (2-22-94 Roma’s my favorite). Although it’ll be nice to have a higher quality official version of Nirvana at Reading, I’d much rathe(Click Here to Know More)

Osama bin Laden is a sad little man.

Recently, we have seen threats by muslims pretending to have nukes. Threats from some german dude. Two raids rounding up minions just today; one in the US and one the UK. Apparently American helos smacked a few more minions in somalia. Toss in a few other recent threats across Europe, add the convictions of even more minions on terror charges. It all adds up to our old enemy osama failing on a global scale. Islam has no real warrior’s left just thugs. I have yet to hear of a single force o(Click Here to Know More)

Turtle Beach Ear Force W3

It’s been quite a while since we report on anything from Turtle Beach. This is a real shame, because the company is putting out a lot of gaming headphones that really helps gamers shut out the rest of the world. Now, you may think shutting out the rest of the world isn’t healthy, but you should try living in it once in a while. Seriously, the Ear Force series is an excellent collection of padded earphones for gamers, and I had a chance to try many of their models out in person when I was a(Click Here to Know More)

Review: Nokia N97

I was most excited when I saw this device announced. This last week I have had to opportunity to take a look at Nokia’s top of the line N97. Brimming with everything imaginable is it a phone for all others to bow too? I’ll fully admit that the N95 was a truly excellent phone and really captured the market here in the UK. It was the phone to have before the iPhone was sent out to wrestle it. The N95 was pretty big but customers were happy to deal with the size since it packed all the h(Click Here to Know More)

Microsoft SQL Career Training Across The UK Examined

We all have a great number of demands on our time, and usually should we have cause to advance our future prospects, getting educated at the same time as holding down a job is what we have to do. Microsoft authorised training can be the way to do it. It’s a good idea to talk about career options with a person who’s got industry experience - and if you’re uncertain, then take counsel on whereabouts in industry would be best, dependent on your personality. Ensure your training is designed to your(Click Here to Know More)

Elonex new motion-sensing game dock for the iPod

Elonex has an iPod dock of their own they are about to release that is pretty innovative and different than anything else on the market. Their iGAME dock doesn’t look too different at first glance, but it does a lot more than just port audio and video to another device. It does do the typical audio and video porting, but it is also a TV game dock, making it a video game console in itself. It takes advantage of the iPhone and iPods popularity as a video game device. The iGAME will go for £79 (abo(Click Here to Know More)

Personal Video Recorders: Ofcom consultation indicates that the BBC wants to make yours obsolete

My attention is drawn to the acronym laden consultation being carried out by Ofcom on behalf of the BBC (pdf). I’m a big fan of Martin Lewis over at MoneySavingExpert.com . Martin can help you get a bargain on nearly any product or service in the UK. I’ve been keeping an eye out for a Freeview PVR for sometime and turn to Martin for advice. What did I miss?

So, the tech news blog has been on holiday for the past couple of weeks. In that time, quite a bit has happened. Yeah, I’m a big fan of the show (thanks Leo.) What else did I miss? Well, Gmail was offline for a couple of hours. It seems this caused many people to believe this now means cloud computing is dead and(Click Here to Know More)
