Check out the interview with a bunch of amazing photos as well as links to the new trailer after the jump!! Photo: Greg Marshall So, you guys have been (semi) secretly making a new video and releasing it quickly. Why did you take this approach? HTC Hero unboxing video

It was barely a month ago that we were at the HTC Hero launch event and in a very short space of time the HTC Hero has become an extremely hot topic. Yesterday I managed to get my hands on the HTC Hero final hardware and software build so thought I'd run through a quick unboxing video to give you some idea what the retail package will have to offer. HTC originally announced that the Hero would be available by the end of July and we've already seen most of the UK retailers offering(Click Here to Know More)

LG GD910 watchphone’s video call capabilities demoed

Included above is a short demo showcasing the LG GD910 watch phone’s ability to make video calls. As you can see, the video is just a tad bit laggy but the audio seems to come out loud and clear. I don’t know about you guys, but there’s no doubt in my mind that the LG designers behind the GD910 were using Dick Tracy’s 2-way watch radio as a reference. Let’s just hope we see this thing hit carriers at a reasonable price because while it’s cool, a high price would make it impossible to jus(Click Here to Know More)

Using multimedia when trying to reach the wider audiences

Internet marketing in the early days had very little to do with video and audio. In fact, you could quite easily setup a website in less than an hour, get it up and running with content, and begin the journey to placing it up in Google with a few days. Those days are long gone as spammers have infiltrated the indexes of all of the major search engines all over the world. Google has wised up to the fact that this does in fact go on, and developed algorithms that block this activity out. A(Click Here to Know More)

Why The UK Loves VodaFones Network

by Nancy Mcdonald There are a lot of different mobile providers out there, and that makes it hard to choose just one. Did you ever feel like you were just floating around in a sea of numbers and offers? One says “First 30 minutes free“ or the other will say “Get a free glass of lemonade when you sign up for“ It can all be very frustrating and confusing but with a little bit of work it is possible to sort through it and find the best provider. In the United Kingdom the best provider without a d(Click Here to Know More)

The Ultimate London iPhone App Review List – The Top 19 London Apps for iPhone

As it gets ever closer to my trip to London in November, I’m starting to decide which iPhone apps I plan to take on our trip. This will be my first time to London with an iPhone and I can’t wait to make use of it. The iPhone will be an incredibly useful tool for planning and while I’m on a trip to Britain. This is by no means an exhaustive list of London iPhone apps, it’s merely a list of the best ones that I could get a demo of. If you’re a London iPhone app developer and your app isn’t on th(Click Here to Know More)

From the stepFORUM of the Day

I met a girl off an internet forum a lot of years ago because I was in jail or some group home shit and had access to the internet. She wrote me romantic bullshit about how she loved me and I had nothing else going on for me so I went a long with it. She sent me pictures of herself and she looked beautiful and someone I could really connect with, maybe even someone who would get me out of the hell life I was living so I agreed to meet her in person, thinking the worst that will happen is she’ll(Click Here to Know More)

HTC TyTN II - All You Need To Know! By Scott Maclean

The TyTN II from HTC is the ultimate in PDA phones. This very stylish device is easy to operate as it comes with all the favorite windows applications that we are all familiar with. The TyTN II is larger than most modern mobile phones but then remember that it is a pocket PC as well. The dimensions are 112mm (length) x 59mm (width) x 19mm (Depth) and weighs just 190grams with the battery, not bad considering it will do almost everything your lap top will. It has a very fast Qualcomm MSM 7200(Click Here to Know More)

Enter Shikari’s album Common Dreads came out last month worldwide (and digitally in the US) and debuted at #16 on the U.K. charts. Produced by Andy Gray (U2, Korn), Common Dreads has been praised by Absolute Punk as “an outlet of mammoth proportions” and by the BBC as an album “packed with anthems.” The band is currently headlining a tour supported by August Burns Red, Bless The Fall and I Wrestled A Bear Once. App Review: SoundGrid

It’s a dream of many of us to be able to play a musical instrument. Unfortunately, most lack the level of commitment needed to actually get beyond the basics. In the past, the best we could hope for is to pick out a hesitant ‘chopsticks’ on the piano or strum a few ropey chords with a guitar. Now, though, technology has transformed the music business turning some unlikely individuals into top selling recording artists. But what can it do for the likes of you and me who fancy ourselves the writ(Click Here to Know More)

Synth Pioneers Pt. 3: Synth Funk

An good intro can really make the song. It can set the mood, erasing whatever else is around you and make you feel safe from the world. These songs work because they are incredibly funky and use the impossible elasticity of the synth to great measure. Another reason these songs still feel fresh is because they represent an era where music and technology had reached a new apex. Stevie Wonder’s synth work in the 70’s is considered by many to be the most influential of it’s era, thanks in pa(Click Here to Know More)

Video Interview With Moon Director Duncan Jones

Following after the break is a nice, meaty interview with Duncan Jones , conducted in his ‘bijou’ office in central London. Despite it being quite an unorthodox request, he agreed to meet me there, let me set up the camera and chat casually to him for around an hour about whatever took my fancy, Moon -related or otherwise. One of the things I’m not able to show you in the video is the full shelf of scripts that Duncan has been sent as potential projects and there’s no way I could name any of(Click Here to Know More)

Free is not a business model

The usual blast of hot air is wafting around the Internet in a renewed discussion of how to make money from giving content and services away for free. This has been prompted by the publication of Wired editor Chris Anderson’s new book, Free: The Future of a Radical Price . A lot of people seem to like the idea of being able to make money without having to charge for what they do, presumably because the idea of asking people for money makes them uncomfortable , or because they haven’t the va(Click Here to Know More)

Get Clients to Say ‘Yes!’

Editor’s note: This article is a summary of Paul Boag’s talk at our event The Future of Web Design . You can also listen to the audio or watch the video of the talk, which is below the article. I’ve been thinking recently about the relationship between clients and designers. And about how we get clients to the point of saying yes. Yes to what, you might ask? Well, that might be yes to the design, that might be yes to your wireframe, some feature or just your approach. But it’s the way that(Click Here to Know More)

I’m back!! Sorry about last week, but having a day off really makes wanting to blog slip into the forgotten areas of my mind; that, and I was driving all over Atlanta looking for a pool. Well, the pool should be ready next week, and I am ALMOST finished with BOTH bathrooms, so I am getting pretty excited about several things. But enough about that… we are here for the music, right? Television Technologies of The Present and Future

The day is placid and the sky is murky. I sit alone, reading a dull book â€" I don’t know why I’m reading the wretched thing. But I can’t just sit here doing nothing, can I? But eventually, I become aware of the thickness of the quietude around me, that I can concentrate no more on anything, leave alone the book. Looking around, I decide to explore the place. Hopping from the bench, my feet crush dry leaves that makes a raw sound, disturbing the silence of the place. But as I walk ahead, the sound(Click Here to Know More)

Accelerating the modern age

It has often been said that change is the only constant in the 21st Century. And there is little doubt that the restless tone of these times is something that the web has helped to accelerate. But the only reason that the net and the web can cope with that punishing pace is thanks to work done four decades ago by British mathematician Donald Davies at the UK’s National Physical Laboratory (NPL).On 5 August 1968 Dr Davies gave the first public presentation of work he had been doing on a method of m(Click Here to Know More)
